A-10 aircraft aborts take off in Boise after landing gear problem

A U.S. Air Force A-10 aircraft from another state that is training in Idaho had a landing gear failure on the runway before takeoff Thursday. The incident was reported just before noon at Gowen Field next to the Boise Airport. The pilot shut down the aircraft immediately and declared an emergency. There were no injuries. As of 3 p.m., the active runway used by military aircraft was shut down while crews removed fuel from the A-10 to move it.
