Cobra Helicopter crash caught on video
Miraculously both pilots walked away from this seemingly unsurvivable crash! (www.cinema5d.com) और अधिक...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
the rotors were spinning well which rules out engine failure. The craft was moving straight so the tail rotors were good. it looks like he just came in straight and hit the ground.
Rotors will spin in autorotation with engine off. He just didn't pull the nose up or couldn't.
The final moments shows the rotors kicking on full power. so i doubt if it is an autorotation.
With the nose low, pulling power will just make you go faster. The nose must be up (flare) before blade pitch and power will slow you and slow decent.
James, thanks for the good information.
Blades are turning. No real attempt at a flare evident. Could be as simple as a few seconds of inattention. I've seen several smack the ground practicing autorotations by being late on the flare.
Anything you can walk away from, we call a controlled landing.
