Fuel leak forces United flight from Newark to make emergency landing
A flight headed from Newark Liberty International Airport to Buffalo made an emergency landing in Rochester on Sunday due to a fuel leak, officials said. A Perfect Example of Clueless Journalism... The statement "The cause of the leak in one of the plane’s wings wasn’t immediately clear." Geez... they automatically assume the wing was leaking... I mean really... There is more than one place for Fuel To Leak From! DOH! and as expected "the wing was not leaking!
Well, they did mention a fuel imbalance. Cause enough for concern.

Yeah... Enough for Concern, and it was a Fuel Problem... Just no research on behalf of the reporter... The emergency did exist, but the wing was not leaking!
Interesting that for a :35 (230) nm trip EWR - ROC depending on when the divert occurred the elapsed time was 2:36 according to the article? And an emergency to boot. I mean it’s only a :55 minute flight to BUF?
ROC is Rochester, NY.
Unless they really did mean RST……..I’d be looking for a new crew or maybe an older one!
