If the USAF is going to keep these planes flying for another 30 years, wouldn't it pay to replace its 8 gas-guzzling PW JT3Ds with 4 modern engines?

I've wondered about that myself. Less things to possibly break and less fuel to burn.

They are going to use a B-52 to pick-up the crew who dropped off last of the B2B's at the military bone yard.
