Retirement given his track record will undoubtedly include some rather lucrative consulting contracts and he will be able to pick and choose his deals in an industry in financial turmoil owning many more seats than passengers to rent them.

As far as Air Canada is concerned he established the management culture which looks like it will persist at least through the next layer. Success will depend entirely on the opening of the tourist market as much of the business market will be gone forever with ZOOM etc..
