FlightAware's custom shark icons help users track Southwest's Shark Week fleet
Southwest is stepping up its Shark Week promotional efforts, which now include the option to track the 'shark flights' via special icons on FlightAware. Track the sharks via: N470WN (Great White ), N705SW (Hammerhead), N961WN (Mako), N553WN (Tiger Shark) and N947WN (Bull Shark) (www.usatoday.com) More...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
Southwest has always had some of the more interesting liveries in the US. That they paired up with the Discovery Channel for Shark Week is not that surprising and that FA is tracking those specially named planes with a special marker is cool. Thumbs up to FA.
Aw yesssss....bring back the "Flying Tigers"P-40 shark mouth! Maybe it won't scare anybody, this time!
I just saw one of these, and since I didn't read about this promo, it freaked me out seeing a 'shark'shaped icon for a Southwest flight on Flightaware-into KOAK!
So cool!
I saw one of the sharks on the screen last night, for a flight out of Pittsburgh. Took me a minute to figure out what was going on, then I realized that it was one of their shark planes. Very cool!
An airline giving PGH some love? Wow. #notbitteraboutUSAirskippingpittsburgh
