A-4E Skyhawk was the very first aircraft I ever sat in. I was nine years old and the cockpit still seemed small. Like they say, "you don't climb into that aircraft, you strap it on".

A very great childhood story...........

I can remember growing up in Cincinnati OH & seeing the USAF Thunderbirds in their F-4 Phantoms...very early 1970's. Also like 9 years old.

I was impressed.

I remember the Thunderbirds in F-4's. What a show! First Thunderbird show I saw they were still flying F-100's. Uh oh, I'm telling my age. LOL.

And I almost saw the USMC in F-4's....Their team was short lived and called the Barons. Saw them at Lunken Airport Cincinnati - I was probably 7 or 8...they started up ...were super loud & ran for 10 minutes ...and shut down due to a low ceiling. Boy was I disappointed.

I live about 20 miles from Oshkosh in Appleton,WI. I grew up in Cincinnati. Looking forward to the Blue Angels several times in WI this summer of 2017 including Oshkosh.

I remember hearing about the USMC team. I never got to see them perform. Did they ever use A-4's?

I remember the Blue Angels in A-4's for a long time.

I'm thinking the USMC Barons flew fro only a couple of years at best ...late 1960's early 1970's....end of Vietnam War Era.
