Boeing 737-700 (N918WN) - Six SWA fleetbirds did their RON time at RNO, and this shot captures the first of the six, "Illinois One" (N918WN), departing on runway 16R as the dawn light gradually begins to brighten up the morning sky over Reno Tahoe International. I was feeling quite happy about catching this scheme, but as I snapped this shot, little did I know that this special paint was just the first of many special livery aircraft that I would be clicking throughout this day.

Hi, Roy. (Big smile) TY for your comment & compliment. I didn't know it when I took this photo, but the day was going to be very colorful for me: Southwest Airlines, Horizon Airlines, and American Airlines had a parade of special livery aircraft scheduled to drop by Reno on this day.
And hey, while I'm here writing to you, go check out the recent gallery posts for six pictures posted by Peter S. Absolutely superb snaps of historical passenger aircraft, including a Comet!! Don't miss seeing his pics. Wonderful clicks!

Yes I saw them, I especially like the Comet4 the first Jet aircraft! All are awesomely preserved old photos.

Also my mom came from the Windy City so Illinois One has a special meaning to me.

Hi Gary- Your last three SWA pics are fantastic. 5* each! Love the colors...

Mathias & Greg ... TYVM, guys. :-)
Dave ... It's the Canon camera. I love this T6S. My philosophy is that the picture should show what the eye saw thru the viewfinder (and besides, my editing skills are basically limited to cropping the shot, leveling the horizontal view, and reducing the overall size so it fits on FA in FULL mode without the viewer needing to scroll at all) so this Canon T6S is recording what is being presented. (Also, I don't like spending over 60 seconds of editing time on a picture ... I'd rather be snapping them than phonying them up ... lol). I've been experimenting with a filter that is supposed to make the midday light look less tinted, but so far I'm very disappointed with the results when I use that filter, so mostly I take my shots (like this one) without that filter; then I d-load the pics; crop, level, and reduce one; and then post into the gallery. I, too, love the colors. I don't know about the results other cameras provide, but for someone like me who likes to see the pic exactly the way my eyes saw the scene, Canon is the way to go.

Hi Gary-thanks for the camera and shooting info. Your results are nothing less than fantastic and Canon should keep you supplied with free equipment for life.
