Airbus A350-900 (B-18917) - Houston gets its first China Airlines A350 in town as its bringing in the Taiwanese President for a visit. Due to an airway restriction of not being able to fly into Mexican airspace, after leaving BZE they had to fly towards Florida to enter US airspace before being able to fly west to IAH. Does EVA Air use that path on its daily trip to Houston? Is there a reason the President's aircraft could not have flown into U.S. through Southern California and then over and down to Houston?

From what I heard James, there's some dispute with either China or Taiwan and Mexico air authorities. So for now they're not allowing them to fly thru.
