STODDARD-HAMILTON Glasair (U1230)
The unusual wind direction indicator at Boone airport in Iowa. The story, as best I remember being told by the late Connie Younger, was that the aircraft arrived one day, the pilot got out and walked away, never to be seen again. So they mounted it.

Interesting. Does the "tail number" of 123.0 perhaps refer to an airport frequency ?
It does. The airport elevation is on the tail, as well.
