Cessna 340 (N740WJ)

This 1979 Cessna 340A was destroyed in a mid-air collision with a Cessna 152 over the Watsonville, CA Municipal Airport. The airport is non-towered, near the Monterey Bay in Central CA. Both aircraft were attempting to land when the incident occurred. The C340 struck the ground and slid into a hangar, damaging the hanger and another aircraft stored inside. The C152 fell nearby on airport property. There were 3 fatalities and no survivors. No one on the ground was injured.
