Hi Guido. I followed your progress to Australia ever since your overflight of Spain, when I happened to spot you just south of Madrid on Flight Radar 24 (no to-from info on the ADSB made me curious). Hope the trip was a good one.
I just wanted to ask you something out of curiosity: wasn't flying West shorter? Up through Canada, Alaska, the Aleutians, Kamchatka, Japan, Phillipines..... Australia?
I once followed a Jetstream ferried fron NZ to the Dominican Republic (basically ame as your flight but in reverse) and it also followed a similar route as yours and I never did get the answer to why.
