Awesome Plane Awesome Sky Awesome Pic !!
I worked on these 56 years ago, as a contract employee at Shepard AFB. May they last as long as the last plane I worked on in 2001, the mighty C-130.
Flew the white trainer version in USAF pilot training in 1969 at Reese AFB in Lubbock,Texas. What a blast it was!
Thanks Ken! The contrast was amazing!
Gotta love the T38!
I remember them in the pattern at Randolph, when I went to Basic Training in January 1965. We see them occasionally, here at Red Flag, for exercises.
Langley has a squadron of them and I get to enjoy them every time I head out there. The design is a classic.
Flew the T-38 at Vance AFB from December 1970 to May/June 1971 when I graduated UPT. Phil is correct it was a blast flying the T-38, particularly when flying solo wing in 2 ship and 4 ship formation.
The T-38 brings back many memories of my pilot training days (Aug'61-Sep'62 - Willie 63-B) at Williams AFB. While my class 63-B was training in the T-Bird our IP's were checking out in the 38.
i worked tons of T-38s as a USAF ATC, and have never seen one in "dark mode". Jeebus, that's a good looking airplane. Great photo!
