Looking at the Activity Log it was about 10 days from Cape Horn.

Just noticed the DC-3 later in this week's pictures. Long haul from way down south to way up north.

Nine hours in a Twin Otter is a lot of ooo-rahhhs.

Flew the Twin Otter several years West Air Commuter Airlines in California. Fun to fly this "C-150 on Steroids". Built solid, tough, and could "Land on a dime, and give 5 cents back...

Ken Borek Air is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. They have a fleet of Twin Otters that are specialised to handle very cold environments. They are the only planes that have made rescue missions to Antarctica in the winter. They have been around for a long time and are exceptional STOL aircraft on land and water. There is also a single engine version that is no longer built. De Havilland Canada is now called Viking Air and is still building the Twin Otter in Calgary. They also build the best scoop water bombers. Viking Air is building a new airport and manufacturing facility just east of Calgary where they will continue to build the Twin Otters, water bombers, DHC 8 and the Q400.

Viking Air is now called De Havilland Aircraft of Canada, not the other way around - I've worked there for 14 years now. Wings, cockpit, cowls/nacelles, control columns and seats are made in Sidney, the rest in Calgary.
