American SAT to PHX Diverts to ELP Windscreen Damage from Weather

Sunday June 03, 2018, AA 1897 shortly after departing San Antonio obtained damage to the nose and windscreen of aircraft, occurring just inside of New Mexico border. Reason currently undisclosed, but from what I heard on ATC Live, it was definitely WX related. Aircraft was diverted to ELP where it burned off fuel north of field before a difficult touchdown on runway 22L, into the sunset, at 21:08 pm, Central time.
