In addition to the fighter crossing in front of the plane, there is another fighter behind that's ready to blow you out of the air at a moments notice. Great video.

To be fair, this isn't a Trump thing. The rich people that are poised to make a lot of money if this goes through, have been trying to get this passed for many, many years under every administration. It's just that it has a much better chance of passing this time because the Republican leadership is now in charge and they typically do what ever is best for rich people.

No one, including NBAA, opposes modernizing the air traffic control (ATC) system. Drew Johnson, as a Senior Fellow at the Taxpayer Protection Alliance, is totally motivated to reduce taxes. We are ALL in favor of lower taxes. I agree with Mr. Johnston's point regarding the business tax loop holes and that is what needs to be fixed. The only ones who would benefit from privatizing ATC are the already rich insiders that are waiting in the wings to take it over. ATC is already funded by the users of the system via the aviation fuel tax, passenger transport and use of international air facilities. Privatization will only make a few already rich people even richer and it will hurt aviation in the long run. Need more money for modernization? Increase the fuel tax by a penny. Problem solved.

Trump and Putin are thinking about acquiring some land in that area (just another real estate deal) so Putin sent a couple fighters to get some aerial photos ;-)

No one will benefit from this proposed change except for whomever the already super rich insiders are that will get a huge enterprise handed to them on a silver plate. Once ATC is in private hands, general aviation will suffer from the new fees, air traffic controllers will make half of what they are making now and eventually safety will suffer. The last time I flew in Canada, when I returned home, there was a bill waiting for me because I talked to ATC for maybe 2 minutes. ATC has been privatized in every other country but the USA and in every case, it has hurt general aviation :-( The super rich almost always get their way because us little guys don't have the resources to fight them :-( The airlines only support this because they think they will be able to control ATC and get special treatment. This privatization has been proposed year after year for more than 10 years, but now with the Republicans in large, you can bet that the really rich people will finally g

Tax payers don't fund this system. ATC is funded by an aviation fuel tax which has served us well for many, many years. This is just another way for a few insiders to make a lot of money.

The EPA was created in 1970 by a Republican, Richard Nixon. These days, most of what is in the media is propaganda about how the EPA gets in the way of business. Few understand that business was destroying our environment before the EPA made them stop. We would have air like Beijing if it weren’t for the EPA.

Every other country that has privatized their ATC system has seen a reduction in their already struggling general aviation sector because of increased costs. The public does not benefit from this. The only ones who benefit are the behind the scenes, already fat cats, that see huge profits to be gained by owning a monopoly on an essential part of the safest aviation system in the world. As always this is about money and aviation safety shouldn't be in private hands.
