1M5 - PORTLAND MUNCIPIAL AIRPORT | Great operation serving the northern BNA area. Stopped at Portland based on the price of fuel and my co-copilots knowledge of the area. Great airport, plenty of ramp space, and a new FBO building in immaculate condition. The CSR/Line Tech on duty was very helpful and promptly greeted us on arrival, even helping us pump SS fuel! 57C - AVIATOR SERVICES LLC | Stopped at East Troy for fuel, twice. Nice SS pump and cozy FBO with clean facilities. FBO appears to be unattended. Second time wee stopped was late at night the fuel pump was OFFLINE and we had to fly somewhere else. A based tennant gave us an alternate recommendation. KBUU - Burlington Airport | Came to BUU unplanned. SS pump at East Troy 8nm north was offline and we flew here to top off to continue southbound. Topped off the tanks but decided to stay overnight. FBO was very clean and had a nice lounge. Tie-down space is there but no ropes or chocks in plain view during after hours ops. Local town of Burlington is wonderful. KCHA - Wilson Air Center Chattanooga | On a long cross country flight home I purposely picked CHA based on a previous visit many years ago. Wilson once again did not disappoint. KFRH - French Lick Municipal Airport | Stopped after hours for fuel and had the whole FBO to myself. Very clean facility, great lounge, snacks available, courtesy phone charger (which we used). Great asset to GA traffic. | 2021-Aug-02 08:54AM |
