Boeing pauses delivery of 787 Dreamliners over fuselage issue

Submitted
Boeing has temporarily halted deliveries of its 787 Dreamliners so it can do additional analysis on a fuselage component, the company and the Federal Aviation Administration said Thursday. “In reviewing certification records, Boeing discovered an analysis error by our supplier related to the 787 forward pressure bulkhead. We notified the FAA and have paused 787 deliveries while we complete the required analysis and documentation,” Boeing said in a statement. (www.cnbc.com) More...

I'm amazed that 12 years after the first units were sold that Boeing continues to have production problems with the 787.

Why? In some cases, problems only become evident with time. In other cases, suppliers can have unexpected variance in materials leading to issues. This isn't an exclusively Boeing phenomenon. The good news is that the defect has been found and now they are assessing whether it constitutes a problem. This is the way it is supposed to work.

Repeating this mostly-irrelevant statement still doesn't make it so.

Sorry for the double post, not sure why that happened. Not really irrelevant though, it’s pretty common for people to opine on the internet, and for people to disagree, as you have.
