If you can make aircraft fuel (Kerosene) from "waste", certainly it seems reasonable that it could also be used as a cleaner automotive (car and truck) diesel engine fuel. It would require the necessary additives for anti jelling, fuel system lubricity, anti growth of fungus, etc. Assuming similar BTU's / gallon, it could be a significant development to help reduce exhaust emissions, and a solution to many of the worlds energy issues, but it will likely be opposed by the petrolium industry, and their political supporters!
