Munoz is a textbook definition of a tool.

On Tuesday, the guy sounds nearly as defiant as the pax he claims was at fault for this.....then by Wednesday, as his company takes a 1/4 billion market cap hit, his tune does a 180 and starts his 'mea culpa' tour. How remarkable.

A few days ago, a squawk was posted on getting $11,000 from Delta one weekend. Delta upped the ante until they got enough takers.

United didn't forcibly remove any passengers, the Chicago Police Department did. Also, 3 other people were taken off that same plane, but nobody seems to be focusing on that.

Correct, however focus of the article is on why UAL let it escalate to that point in the first place. No one's arguing AV Police were doing as ordered....but who ordered them in? The airline. I've been on many flights where the ante keeps getting upped to the point someone will buckle. Everyone has a price, it just has to be found. See Joel Wiley's post above.

Simple solution was to charter a NetJet and fly the crew on that airplane.

Seems to me offering thousands if not 10s of thousands would have been wayyyyyy cheaper and surely for several thousand dollars someone would have volunteered.
