Just as they were ready to depart; initial reports show no injuries. Very good images on CNN and local news sites (www.cnn.com) और अधिक...

Having spent a lot of time working on this type of a/c the CRJ200, It is my opinion that during engine start, the Turbine wheel let loose (contained Failure), and then Raw Fuel would be blowing out the tail pipe (on this a/c to the right side under the #2 engine... With the titanium container the APU was in I doubt there is any internal damage to the a/c, and if the crew acted quickly enough the external damage should be minimal.

Was wondering where the APU was located on the AC in question looked like the number two engine from the photo. Thanks for the info.

The APU is mounted sideways, Air is pulled in on the right side top of the fuselage, through the APU, and out the left side.

Note image you will see below the engine the APU exhaust with the titanium shield around the exhaust. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4Q2RjfxDkhIZzdWVHZJam9RYk0/view?usp=sharing In this image where the flame is coming out is the APU exhaust.

That is the APU Inlet Door in the open position.
