Hot Air Balloon Carrying Three Burns, Explodes and Crashes in Virginia
On the eve of the MidAtlantic Balloon Festival, a hot air balloon hit a power line as it was attempting to land, caught fire and then shot up into the sky before exploding and crashing Friday evening in Virginia. Three people were aboard the balloon, including the pilot and two passengers, at the time of the incident. Authorities were still looking for the wreckage and the people aboard. Its too bad for all of those who came to see them fly. Its just one of those risks they take with flying them. Same as an airshow pilot. I feel for the family's of the people on board. Also for those who saw it crash as they will take that home with them. RIP.

2 dead, 1 missing in fiery hot-air balloon crash
The search for the last passenger missing after a fiery hot-air balloon crash in Virginia has transitioned from a rescue operation to a recovery operation, state police said Saturday.
Search teams located two of the three occupants of the balloon by noon Saturday. Remains were sent to the chief medical examiner in Richmond, Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said at a press conference.
"We have still not located the basket or the balloon, but we do continue to locate debris," Geller said, noting the fire may have burned up the parachute and basket. "It can be like looking for a needle in a haystack."
