He uses the completely wrong metrics - an airline can have great "Miles per gallon per ASM" by flying around a lot of empty seats. A more accurate measure would be gallons of fuel per revenue passenger mile.

JetBlue - lowest fleet age and best fuel economy of any US carrier. Coincidence?

If you invest in airlines (don't), find one purchasing new aircraft. Is that what I'm suppose to get out of this?
