Here Again, as in the past, when the auto makers were bashed for flying to D.C. Why are not the users and manufacturers making an effort to educate the public as well as the lawmakers about the "time is money" aspect of business flight. OR, is the bickering/campaigning for office the REAL issue.
Well, Matt/Brian: Matt, it sure wasn't a landslide and being new, I think a lot of folks sat out or may have even voted for him to give him a chance and see what he could do. This is another argument that can be debated til the Lord comes again. He now has a record, which he did not have when first elected, and on that record and his performance he will be judged in 2012. I did not vote for him when he ran the first time, primarily based on the fact that he had no real experience. I will not vote for him in 2012 because most of what he has done shows that I was right with my first vote.
I agree Wayne. We've become so ignorant, we'll elect anybody who makes a good speech even if they are an empty suit when it comes to effective leadership and understanding of economics.
53% Obama 45.7% McCain... That's not really "real close" Wayne! We're talking 9,500,000 votes difference!
@Neal, Thank you for COMPLETELY missing the point. Like a typical liberal you just can't grasp the obvious. Obama wants to take away the private jet subsidy while he uses AF1 as a private jet.
Until we elect politicians that are willing to put aside differences, make tough decisions, take accountability for their mistakes, and work towards a common goal (what, incidentally, is our common goal?), we will continue down this destructive path.
