there ARE reasons to preboard those who DO take longer to get into their seats and stow luggage, such as handicapped, oxygen, ubaccompanied minors, or even families with small children as they always have a lot of carry ons..the frequent flyers with the gold and platinum cards have been made to feel they are very special to the airlines, so they too have been given priority boarding..of course the airlines want the first class passengers (most of whom are not paying full fare, but using points and mileage for that seat)to feel "special" as well..then there is the rest of "the bus" who get to drag their carry on past the first class cabin and wonder about the "percs"..some of it has a purpose, some of it is merely for marketing purposes..basically its back to the "cattle car" and covid, whats that????
