Yes he was an amazing basketball star, and yes he did some stand up things in life. BUT, we are honoring someone who was so rich and entitled, he pushed the pilot to fly them in sub par weather. Instead of driving like common folk, he HAD to heli him his daughter and frineds to the event. Read up on the incident, he was very pushy to the pilots he cleared to fly for him and that morning he pushed to have them takeoff. His entitled actions were a big factor in the death of them all. I personally think having fixes/waypoints named after things on the ground under them (city names/places of interest) are more interesting.

It was a tragic accident. But to rename waypoints in honor of a rich, entitled athlete, ignoring the others who perished in the crash, ignoring the victims of other crashes who are not as entitled as he was, is repugnant.

Shame on you, FAA.

And again those others who were not over paid sports stars are left out of everything again. Oh they were just people who were nothing more than someones loved ones. What a piece of CRAP to do.
