Pilot Sues SF Airport Over General Aviation

प्रस्तुत

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) — The owner of the last small "piston airplane" based at San Francisco International Airport says airport managers are trying to force general aviation pilots to move to other airports, and illegally pulled his flight privileges as part of the plan. I'm guessing the pilot lives up in "The City" and probably has to pay landing fees in addition to his tiedown fees. Probably easier and relatively cheaper to relocate to San Carlos or Palo Alto, assuming there's room, of course.

This owner is acting in a most unsound manner. Small piston GA aircraft can legally operate out of big airports like JFK, ORD and others however owerns/pilots have to realize that their operations will cause huge commercial aircraft 747, 340-600 and so on take more time to taxi, take off, approach, land and taxi and hence more delays and also more pollution. There are several GA-small airports in the Bay Area on the Western side where this guy park his 180 and everybody is happy.

If you don't see a problem, then you are blind. This is by all account a law abiding pilot who was being targeted by an airport executive with a burr up his hind end. FAA seems to agree that there was no wrong doing on the part of the pilot/aircraft owner, and it sounds as if the current regime at SFO is back peddling to solve the issue.

If Mr. Colescott missed your point, it is only because your point has absolutely nothing to do with the article.
The airport management -- operating a publicly funded airfield -- illegally falsified claims against a law-abiding citizen and refused him services to which he was lawfully entitled. If you don't see the problem there (which is precisely what you said), then you are the one who should do some re-reading.
