You Know You're Addicted To Aviation When...

प्रस्तुत

…you have to write a post about it. …you almost crash your car because you are craning your neck to look out the sunroof at landing aircraft. …you notice airport codes on license plates. …you recognise planes at 33000 ft above your house. …before you board an aircraft you already know the exact type, reg and seats on it, and maybe even the food! Many more... (aviationhumor.net) और अधिक...

Also, I'd like to add: When you listen to LiveATC more often than your music.

Ditto that!

Or your scanner.

And you own the latest VHF scanner and short wave radio (HF SSB to listen traffic over the Atlantic and Pacific for good measure) 3 hr/day on working days and 8/hr on weekends at least! A variation on the theme: you follow the graphics of traffic landing at JFK on one´s computer and listen LiveATC on your children's computer causing mayhem at the den.

Guilty to about 95% of it. Can live in an airport, and can be flying 24/7. Have a 5 yr old grandson, that all he talks about is airplanes, and loves to be in cockpits of any airplane. This grandma is very proud of him, and prays he does what grandma was not allowed to do.

I am very fortunate, I happen to work right near KORD and our office happens to be less than a mile from TDZE to RNWY 14R, when the winds are right I just go on flightaware.com and just love to trace those 777/747 coming in and fly right over our building...I always walk out and just enjoy the show, my co-workers are used to me :)

They just ain't nothing like turbine noise that makes you want to go right back up. I have came in off a long one before, heard a takeoff, looked around and saw it, and wished I was right back up there. I have been semi retired now about 2 years. My wife never totally understood my passion for it during that time, BUT, now, she don't even know how to turn on a computer but when the FA map is up on my screen with our local airport, she knows on the map where the house is and I have caught her looking overhead at a contrail and telling me that is xyz passing over now.lol

I was fascinated since I saw flying over our house in Limassol Cyprus ,a biplane with ropes joining the wings that it was,as I was told carrying the post from Cairo to the Limassol Aerodrome during the early years of war WWII . I wanted to be a pilot but I changed my mind when I was told there were no toilet facilities on the plane . Since then after 70 years I never stop watching the planes flying over our house . I suppose I am an addict. May God keep safe all the people who have as a living being on a plane every day.

Some cargo aircraft still have no toilet, so more cargo can be transported.

Dear Elizabeth,If you are addicted to Aircraft , then when you look up in "heavens" then you know that you have been there before in spacecraft with technology beyond even science fiction"s imagination. The Seraphim as mentioned in Religion are Aircraft with 6 wings and the Cherubim are Craft with multiple windows. Angels are "Pilots " and their wings are the INSIGNIA with their Rank. THere are 54 Base Stations 120 KM in diameter . The intermidiate craft from base station to our Planet are 375 metres long and every six hurdred years we have visitors. Some missions teach LOVE , some missions Punish and destroy and some teach kill for " religion" . Note 1917 was the miracle of the Sun at Fatima Postugal, 30 years later the incident at Rosslyn , 30 years after the signal from space "WOW!!!! 0 ,35 years due Dec 2012 extected confirmation of existence of Extraterrestials and after another 35 years in 2047 the Landing in the middle east with the acceptace of their leader as "GOD" who will be called later the "ANTICHRIST". The Angels of God will arrived later ( ONLY GOD KNOWS THE DATE ) and the Armaggeddon.

How does your previous comment relate to a decision not to fly because of the lack of a toilet?

Dear Elizabeth,
Regret that I wrote things that to-day are of my interest . We are not in a court of Justice to say YES OR NO. I am guilty as Charged To fly was a dream and the toilet story as a young boy made me follow other directions. To- day I am a member of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers. Regret fo going overboard. Theo.

Dear Elizabeth all my life was planned by "COINSIDENCES" . Twice in my Summer Holidays I was chosen between between dosens of other boys to be given a Job very well paid. As I was the 4th of seven children the second job earned my enough money to cover my expences at the University to be a Physicist but I never Graduated. In 1962 I went to the Tachnikon in Johannesburg and a Lecturer send me to Philips in South Africa who paid my studies , trained me locally band in Europe and worked as an Elevtronic Engineer / Technician in Scientific /Industrial Equipment Division and stay with Philips in different Managerial Positions till I retired in 1999 . Since then I study as a"MISSION" religion/ science/ the Universe and what I know and say is Knowledge / Revelation / and Spiritual "channelling " .What I do and say is "GUIDANCE" . That is why I communicate with you feeling that you are a "CHOSEN PERSON" Regards Stavros Theologides ( Theo )
Please Note that God the father of Jesus is NOT the creator of the Universe but OUR Creator

I've got a $450 HAM radio in my truck that I've never talked on. One VFO is on IND tower and the other on IND Center. I can monitor simultaneously and can listen to one flight get takeoff clearance at the same time another is getting a ride report at FL 370 and never miss a word. My wife says it's a sickness.

I can remember feeling my cherrios at KFSM one afternoon back in the late 70's. I had just got left seat on our 707 and we had a 1500 departure for somewhere out West. Wind had been screwey all day and we were using 07. All I could see straight ahead to my East & North was solid black, topping 45m. ATC said if you aren't ready to depart in 10 minutes, we will hold you for at least an hour til all this passes. It was kind of a sit down, buckle up and shut up if we are going to go.I told my FO and FE not to ask questions but just do what I said. Lined up, powered up, and just a few seconds after gear up, started that heifer around to the right for about a 270 heading or therabouts, climbing all the way through that turn and out on top somewhere Southeast of OKC. Clear sunshine all around, wx way behind us. FO looked over and said "this ain't no USAF fighter but it sure acted like one. I hope you ain't gonna be that crazy all the time". You gotta do what you gotta do.lol

Well, they were wanting to go too, but after that, there was a lot of "didn't we just promote that crazy SOB".lol. Long live Boeing; couldn't do that with the Bus.LOL

Best I recollect, there was a Braniff BAC111 right behind me going to TUL. They put him out on short time right behind me. He took about another 5 seconds and broke for that same turn. I think he actually came on around to about 300 but still skirted the wx and went on in to TUL. FO wondered out loud how I got over in that one.lol
