Plus-size air travelers petition for free extra seats and other accommodations
A Change.org petition is calling on airlines to allow overweight passengers to get free additional seats. "Plus-sized" blogger and content creator Jae'lynn Chaney posted the petition to push the Federal Aviation Administration to require airlines to help large passengers. Just charge for the extra weight over standard winter/summer values. I mean you pay for overweight/oversize baggage don’t you? Airlines are charging a la carte anyway why should everyone else have to pay the price. BTW, most airlines only charge 50% extra for “one ass in two seats” so there is break given.
Sansa,a small CR carrier always weighed pax and baggage. If you were overweight you were assessed a penalty = which you either paid or they'd refund your ticket.
ps, I’ll bet there is never a complaint if they get put in business class…..even if they don’t fit there either? Just a ruse to get an upgrade for free.
I guess in your reasoning, smaller passengers should be put in smaller seats.
No, that is not what said. If you are going to question my comment, fine. In the meantime read and comprehend! I suggested that the airlines continue to use standard weights for summer & winter “as accepted by the FAA” and the aircraft manufacturers build to that standard which corresponds to average size or very close to it. So if you want to put a 300 pound ass in two seats, the airlines will accommodate but you pay 50% more.
more entitled freebie nonsense. Entitled Overeaters Association has lots of ideas for special people that fly in the face of logic and common sense. One or two of the free seats make make some flights only break even.
