Wow can't imagine the force of those bricks hitting the aircraft. Significant damage on those wings.

PSP was much better at preventing FOD but in dry weather the dust would blow up and in wet weather they were slicker than SSSSSSSSSSSSS

They even stone their own planes over there too?

That is pretty cheap.. I am surprised they did not sink the gear into the ground before they could do the run up...

I wish there was a video...
That would have been pretty spectacular to see when it happened.

Idea of bricks has merit. Implementation was terrible.

Apparently building a huge patio doesn't make a good airport.

Maintenance then used duck tape to repair the aircraft.

Its DUCT tape, not "Duck" tape - however, "Duck" is a brand of Duct tape ;-)

A couple of decades ago there was a British Harrier that did a demo at an airshow held at a post-WWII Dutch airbase in Germany. It turns out you can't hover over pavers either. The jet blast dug up the pavers and sent them flying in all directions.

I think this is OPST, somewhere in Eastern Pakistan. If so, it has been there awhile to commence with. This is still used in a lot of places and if maintained, not bad, cheap, fast, easy, but if not maintained or used for a runup, then you see the results.

I really couldn't tell from the story but as it was a run up, it may have been mechanics at the controls.

Would love to have seen the expressions on the faces of those doing the run-up. I can just hear them saying to one another.."think anyone will notice?" Or maybe..."Quick, call Home Depot and see if you can get someone to fix this before they find out"

According to some comments on the story itself, paver bricks at som UK airports are used but that they had the good sense to use mortar between them, LOL. Laid dry, we see the results. LOL
