I had the honor of meeting the Colonel when he owned the Truck Stop. I bought his book there and he was gracious enough to sign it for me. When I started reading it, I could not put it down. Men like him are few and far between, he will be missed.

Watched the news about him on TV, now I can put a name with that face I saw many times and never knew who it was. He had to put up with a lot of politics over the years that only he could relate to. Its too bad he couldnt have written a tell it all book on that but oh what hot water some of the high people would have been in. Rest in Peace, you did a great service to the country by keeping our officals safe on every flght.

Indeed Col. Albertazzie witnessed first hand some of the most important events of the previous century such as his flight on a C-137 (AF 27000?) from Andrews AFB to Islamabad carrying Dr. Henry Kissinger on the first leg of his secret trip to China. The leg from Islamabad to Beijing and back was done in a most secret manner too on a Pakistani Airlines 707. Later on Col. Albertazzie would pilot AF One with Nixon aboard on his memorable first ever trip to China, and the rest is of course a story well known.
