Five dead, including pilot, after small plane crashes in Yorba Linda neighborhood

YORBA LINDA, Calif. (FOX 11) - A twin-engine Cessna 414A crashed Sunday in a Yorba Linda neighborhood, killing the pilot, and four others on the ground, injuring others,and setting at least one house on fire, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.

The plane nosedived onto Canyon Drive about 1:45 p.m., OCFA Capt. Cameron Rossman said.

The Cessna 414A took off from Fullerton Municipal Airport shortly before the crash, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The airport is about 15 miles from the accident site

There's no information so far regarding why the plane crashed.

According to the OCFA PIO on Twitter, at least two people are dead and two patients were transported to local hospitals.

The names of those killed will be withheld pending notification of kin.

One firefighter suffered an ankle injury, Rossman said.

The number of people in the plane are unknown.

Several witnesses captured the aftermath of the incident on social media.

A total of 72 firefighters from the OCFA, Anaheim and Orange were dispatched to the scene, he said

The crash will be investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration
