MOSCOW, RUSSIA (TASS) — Sheremetyevo Airport has closed two international terminals and suspended the use of the third runway as part of anti-crisis measures due to reduced traffic, the airport press service reported.


Sheremetyevo also suspended all its investment projects.
Sheremetyevo International Airport (SIA), during the period of a significant decrease in production load due to restrictions imposed in the field of international air transportation, has developed a set of anti-crisis measures in all areas of the SIA group of companies," the report says.

As part of the anti-crisis measures, the airport will also significantly reduce non-production costs, optimize technical processes, change the work schedule of the inter-terminal railway crossing (not two trains will run between the terminals, but one). The airport reminded that its Terminal D has been closed since March 15. All flights from terminal D have been transferred to terminals C and B. Multi-level parking and traffic on the forecourt in front of the terminal are also closed.

"International flights of Belavia airlines (for departure), Airline Armenia, Vietnam Airlines, Corendon Airlines, Korean Air, Mongolian Airlines, Aeroflot (flights to the EAEU), Cham Wings Airlines, Air India, Air Serbia for arrival and departure from terminal D were transferred to terminal C. Domestic flights of Aeroflot, Rossiya, Pobeda, Yamal, Ikar, Nordwind Airlines, Severstal airlines and flights of Belavia airline for arrival are served in terminal B,"

 the airport’s press service added.

Earlier, Sheremetyevo already suspended the operation of some terminals during the peak of the pandemic. After the incidence began to decline, flights of Russian airlines abroad were resumed, the terminals resumed operation.
