Which airline has the most Boeing 737 Max 8 jets in its fleet? According to the airplane manufacturer, the answer is Southwest Airlines, which has taken delivery of 31 planes as of January this year. It is waiting on orders of a further 249 of the single-aisle aircraft.

In the past six months, two Boeing 737 Max 8s have crashed—in Indonesia in October and Ethiopia this weekend—killing nearly 350 people in total. The aircraft has now been grounded by China and Indonesia, as well as by Ethiopian Airlines and Cayman Airways. Whether other carriers or jurisdictions will, or should, follow suit is an open question.

It’s bad news for Boeing, as well as for airlines: Thousands of 737 Max planes are on order. Through January, 5,011 have been ordered and 350 delivered. Each plane costs around $122 million, and canceling unfilled orders can be costly and disruptive for airlines.

The full list of identified buyers of the 737 Max is below. If you don’t see a particular airline on the list, it may still use the plane. GECAS, which operates 22 of the aircraft (with another 154 on order), is a GE-owned aircraft financing and leasing business that loans planes to everyone “from flagship airlines to startups, and from regional airlines to low-cost carriers.”

On Monday, the US Federal Aviation Administration provided additional information on airlines operating the 737 Max (pdf). The US regulator maintains the aircraft is safe to fly.

It said the worldwide fleet includes 387 airplanes, while the US-registered fleet includes 74 planes.
