It is a pity that the production of this Ukrainian built heaviest operating cargo aircraft, has been shelved due to the on-going political tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
Colin Seftel
Leon, it is no longer the heaviest operating cargo plane.
AN-124 max take-off weight is 405,000kg.
747-8F max take-off weight is 447,700kg.

What about the AN 225? 600,000kg. Just completed maintenance downtime and is now operational.

Does it really matter who is the biggest. When they are this big, they all are pretty impressive. Just watching them take off and land and lumber across the sky.
