Rode one of these from San Juan to Mayaguez Puerto Rico and back in 1996. Noisiest aircraft that I have ever ridden on, but it got us there. American Airlines or their affilate was flying the thing.
That's not what you were on in PR. American Eagle operated a fleet of SD-360's. Both 200's and a half dozen 300's. They moved a majority of them down to SJU to replace the CASA fleet due to corrosion issues. SD360 is a fantastic aircraft. Yes it is noisy, unpressurized, and had no autopilot system. You were always getting beat up and hot due to operations conducted primarily below 10k. We called them the "Vomit Comit". Built like a tank and could haul full payload and it's weight in ice...
