Boeing 747-400 (VP-BIK)

A GREAT catch, Mark! I know just how you felt; I was between flights at KORD a couple years back and I snapped one of these landing. I was at an AAL gate waiting for my flight and I could see landing traffic. I saw it approaching but I could tell I'd only have one slim opportunity to click it just as it was passing between two objects (light poles, I think; I'll have to check out the pic). At first, I wasn't going to try, but then I thought like you that I did not have any of this Russian cargo line so I tried to "time" my "shutter push" just right, and as it turned out I did get the shot. Geez, I wonder if it was possibly the same B747? I'll check.
Super catch here. It's a "5" even with the haze. Bravos.

I just found my click taken at KORD and checked it out. It's an obstructed shot (there are two light poles between me and the 744 as it is landing), and it is a tad blurry too. Your snap is waaaaaay better. Congrats.

Gary, Thank you very much for the compliment on this photo. My school is going very well, that along with work keeps me very busy (gotta keep working because no money dries out an airplane's fuel tank lol). I am getting two flights a week for instrument training and I get to fly on the weekends with my friends so I have no reason to complain. I will definitely try to take your advice about not getting old but I can't make any promises:)
