I always thought the Mustang had a propeller? <G>
Michael Hoare
It does Skyhawk but this is not a Mustang. As stated it is a CL Sabre.

Michael, when I posted my comment, the aircraft was identified as a Mustang, and I made the comment in jest. I knew that an obvious mistake was made in the I'D tabs, and it was corrected soon after. I meant no disrespect to the poster, Tim Guzman. It was an attempt at levity which obviously failed.

Hey skyhawkrg, thanks for pointing that out. I posted 2 photos at the same time. One was a P-51 and the other this shot of the F-86. I do know the difference, just a typo if you will. As soon as I saw your comment I fixed it. Thanks again.

Growing up in Ville St-Laurent , a suburb of Montreal and the location of Canadair Ltd , I spent hours at the ends of runways 10/28 , enjoying take offs and landings of the sleek and beautiful F-86 Sabre . Also saw many F-104 Starfighters , T-33 Shooting Stars , CL-41 Tutors , CL-28 Argus with it's 4 powerful Wright Cyclone radials and CL-44 Yukon . Any other members here former Montrealers with similar memories .

TIM GUZMAN..............excellent photo . How low was the a/c ?

peter tomlinson I grew up in Toronto and the highlight every year was the air show @ The Canadian National Exhibition Three days of aircraft watching heaven. When I was growing up , yes those Argus plus Cf101 Voodoos, Gumman Trackers, The Golden Knights flying those F86's . There was alwas an assorment of British aircraft as well Nimrods, Hawker Hurricanes and ooohwee the Vulcan. The latest US aircraft would make an apperance . I remember the F-15 in the early 70's when it was new. The Blue angles would usually close the show(F11f and then F4's)

The markings tell me this aircraft is American. It does seem to me to be a Saber but since I don't see the side shot, I can't tell. It is certainly a well maintained plane so I suppose it is a replica of the Saber and not a photograph taken when F-86's were operational.
Champdriver
Yes it's real and currently flying in airshows today, and not a replica, and it's spelled Sabre.
