The small door behind the cockpit was known as the "hamburger door" for obvious reasons...Thanks for posting!

Click on the "full" size photo button and look just above the hangar structure to the left of the street lamp. You will find eight (8) flying objects in formation.

Birds? Aircraft?

>>> Dave... I've seen photos of airmail sacks being loaded thru that "hamburger door" in commercial DC-3 airport operations... box lunches for the crew too.
