1109024 — - Two of the sixteen Army helicopters (eight Apaches and eight Black Hawks) during the fabulous swarm arrival to RNO earlier this week. They arrived in four groups: a group of three Black Hawks, then a group of four Apaches, then three more Black Hawks, and finally a six-ship group of two Black Hawks and four Apaches. The Black Hawk seen here was about to land on Charlie taxiway when it was clicked behind the AH-64E Apache (1109024) that had shut down a few moments earlier.

Extreme caution was the #1 rule I observed while out here. With so many helicopters landing and taxiing to various positions on the ramp, it would have been easy for me to lose my head. But my biggest concern was that the lens on my camera was repeatedly being pelted by little bits of stone, gravel, and sand. And yeah, OK, I admit it: the whomp, whomp, chomp, chomp sounds coming from everywhere around me were somewhat disconcerting (but waaaay cool, too). lol

C.W. & Alien ... TYVM, guys. Alien, I'll leave the vids up to you, my friend. The only public-access media site I am a member of is this one, and this one desires pics. And take it from me, T., a membership in this one isn't worth hundreds; it's worth thousands. For an aviation photographer, an FA membership is like having one key, and when the photog learns how to properly use that FA key, it opens hundreds of doors ... and all of them open to the sky. (That's why I know I owe FA, and especially two people in FA, a debt I can never repay.) So I'll stay "focused" on pics for as long as FA wants them, or until I cross over from eating plants to being fertilizer FOR them, whichever comes first. (lol)
