TYVM, Sam. This was the first of three special liveries queued up to depart at the same time. The America West schemebird (AA's N838 AW) was the very next one to leave, and it was followed by a QXE Dash 8 wearing collegiate clothes. I was out here for 11 hours, and it was a great day for spotting.

its starting to get cold here at KBUF, but im still out here
spent all day sat spotting (9am-5pm).
got some good shots by the thruway using 5...ill upload them in next few days

I've got the address and name (around here somewhere) of a guy who lives just off Cayuga. I met him once when I was back in Buffalo about two years ago and I was trying to park my rental car so I could do some spotting at the end of 5 like I used to do as a kid. We got to yakking and I told him I was from Reno and just visiting Buffalo again. Since then, he lets me park by his house when I'm there. Then I just scurry over to the end of 5 by the Genessee / Cayuga / Kensington Expressway intersection and click them coming right past me. (The Niagara Frontier Transit police usually show up but I just show them my Nevada license and explain a bit and they are OK with me being there.) If I can find this guy's info, I'll pass it along to you. But I'm sure he won't want his driveway to become a "spotter's parking lot" so if I find the info I'll get it to you privately.

I used to live on Cayuga across from NFTA poice station and the 3 VOR towers....
the 727s were my alarm clock every morning

I usually park over behind the collections buildings on Lawrence bell drive, right near the thruway...sometimes walk onto thruway grass to get clean shot with no trees right under the approach lights (hush hush)
on other end of 5/23 there a parking lot usually with trucks, owener lets me park there anytime...
polce sometimes get calls on us...but there just doing their job...never had a problem with anyone....
just a lot of stares from motorists...
