Such a beautiful plane
Dave Blevins
I have an old friend that flew one of these on a regular basis in the late '70's, and through the early eighties and the company also purchased a Lear jet of some type, so he was a busy guy between flying helicopters for a 7 day schedule, then on his off 7 days, he sometimes flew either of those fixed wings. Got to be aware of your rest time. Careful planning.

Is that Hoover behind the stick?
Martin Coddington
Hoover usually flew piston Commanders, and usually the Shrike I believe (500 hp total). Turboprop Commanders are about twice that and were not his normal airshow machines.

Beautiful shot, I fly one for a living, will have to share this with the boss!

Hey guys glad you like it. Great airplane and ontop of that, the owner went glass ccockpit with it. I believe G600's..

Great image much appreciated by Aero Commander fans. Our business had a 500B in the late 1960's, and a 690B in the late 70's. Been in aviation all my life brought up on Piper Aztecs, I thought the 500B was the first serious aircraft we had and was a great instrument platform. Of course those props close to the fuselage mad a noise, but a small price to pay for such a beautiful aircraft.
