The aircraft in the foreground is a TBF/TBM Avenger torpedo bomber. The partially hidden one is likely an SNJ.

The plane behind the TBM is a Commonwealth CA-3 Wirraway which is based on the North American Aviation NA-16 of which the T-6 is a later derivative. The easily identifiable feature is the more rounded rudder as opposed to the T-6's straighter triangular shaped rudder and fin.

A "Grumman G-40" is an aircraft design, not an aircraft. If the airplane pictured is a TBF, then it is a Grumman airplane. If it is a TBM, then it is an Eastern Aircraft or General Motors airplane - not a "Grumman" because in that case it was not "built" actually by Grumman, which is the official FAA standard for proper identification of US aircraft. On that basis, a TBM is an example of a Grummaon aircraft design but not a Grumman aircraft itself. Same with the FM-2 Wildcat and the SCAN Type 30 Widgeon for other examples.
