SINGAPORE TA-4 Super Skyhawk (N518TA)
SkyFair 7.21.18: #N518TA - Douglas TA-4J Skyhawk (Ser#MD 14291) makes a pass over Rwy 34L slow enough for me to get a decent photo!
Comments
Singapore did purchase quite a few A4's/TA4's from the US Navy in the mid/late 1970's. I was stationed at NAS Lemoore '73-'76 where the Singapore pilots received training in the A4. Why is this photo labeled Singapore TA-4 when it has US Navy markings? Just curious.
Also affectionately known as “Heinemann's Hot Rod”... in reference to its famous chief designer, Ed Heinemann of the Douglas Aircraft Company!
Was an I.P. In this type when at MAS Yuma and El Torro, great little bird and saved my back side in V.N.
